What is Ledger Live?

Ledger Live is the official application provided by Ledger® for desktop and mobile devices. It connects to your Ledger hardware wallet to let you manage your crypto portfolio securely. Your private keys stay safely stored on your device, while Ledger Live offers an intuitive interface for sending, receiving, staking, and tracking your cryptocurrencies.

Ledger Live supports over 1800 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many others, and also provides integrated exchange and staking features.

Step 1: Download and Install Ledger Live

Start by downloading the official Ledger Live app from the official Ledger website. It is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Ensure you download only from official sources to avoid security risks.

Once downloaded, follow the installation instructions specific to your device.

Step 2: Connect Your Ledger Hardware Wallet

Plug your Ledger device into your computer via USB. If you are using a Ledger Nano X, you can also connect via Bluetooth to supported mobile devices.

Unlock your device by entering your PIN directly on the hardware wallet. This ensures secure access and protects against unauthorized use.

Launch Ledger Live on your computer or mobile device.

If you have previously set up Ledger Live and your hardware wallet, select the “Login” option. Otherwise, follow the prompts to initialize a new wallet.

Ledger Live will detect your connected hardware wallet and synchronize your accounts.

Step 4: Add Cryptocurrency Accounts

Inside Ledger Live, navigate to the “Accounts” tab.

Add accounts for the cryptocurrencies you want to manage by selecting from the list of supported coins and tokens.

Ledger Live will scan your wallet and display your balances and transaction history.
